MANHATTAN, Kan. — Booth Creek Wagyu is set to host the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 31. The event will kick off a weekend of specials and other festivities at the first-of-its-kind meat market.
A few things that guests can look forward to:
- Raffle drawings to win BCW gift cards and apparel
- Event-themed meat bundles and specials
- Free samples (as always)
- Introduction of Sunday store hours (12-5 p.m.)
BCW opened its doors during the 2021 holiday season with limited hours and products, but this occasion will mark a more formal Grand Opening.
The store includes a "sampling kitchen" that is the first of its kind in the industry. Equipped with a specialized cooktop capable of searing steak in less than 2 minutes, guests are offered bites of authentic Wagyu cuts prepared by BCW's team members.
This concept allows guests to try before they buy, gathering helpful knowledge of different steak cuts and preparation methods.
Wagyu is world-famous for its marbling, which is what gives beef much of its tenderness and flavor. This rich, buttery texture makes it a national treasure in its native Japan. Many of the cattle raised by Booth Creek are descendants from small herds exported to the United States in the 1980's.
The store is located at 519 McCall Rd., Ste. 500.
Starting March 28, store hours are 10-6 Monday-Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday.
