Traditional German Wagyu Beef Rouladen

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2–3 lbs thinly sliced Wagyu (¼-inch thick)

  • 8–12 slices bacon (optional)

  • ½ cup German mustard or Dijon

  • 1 onion, julienned

  • 2 carrots, julienned

  • 2 dill pickles, julienned

  • Salt & pepper

  • Toothpicks

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil

  • 1 cup beef broth

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lay out beef slices and spread with mustard. Season.

  2. Layer bacon, onions, carrots, and pickles.

  3. Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.

  4. Sear in butter or oil until browned.

  5. Add broth, cover, and simmer 2 hours until tender.

  6. Thicken sauce if desired and serve with gravy.
