Tender, savory, and deeply flavorful, this Wagyu Beef Rouladen brings a German classic to life with beautifully marbled beef. Thin slices are layered with mustard, bacon, pickles, and vegetables, then slowly braised until fork-tender. Serving 6–8, this comforting dish is perfect for weekend dinners or holiday gatherings.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2–3 lbs thinly sliced Wagyu (¼-inch thick)

  • 8–12 slices bacon (optional)

  • ½ cup German mustard or Dijon

  • 1 onion, julienned

  • 2 carrots, julienned

  • 2 dill pickles, julienned

  • Salt & pepper

  • Toothpicks

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil

  • 1 cup beef broth

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lay out beef slices and spread with mustard. Season.

  2. Layer bacon, onions, carrots, and pickles.

  3. Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.

  4. Sear in butter or oil until browned.

  5. Add broth, cover, and simmer 2 hours until tender.

  6. Thicken sauce if desired and serve with gravy.
